My goal is for returning clients or new clients to leave feeling beautiful.. most importantly comfortable in there own skin. I do not agree that one product is good for everyone, each of us are unique in color, texture & sensitivity, so custom tans are essential for that reason alone. We care about your skin, so should you.. Not only is our airbrush method of tanning safer than sunbathing or tanning salons, it's also a great way to cover up imperfections of the skin. Southern Glow can give you the flawless look you've always wanted, customized to the exact level of tan - from light golden to rich bronze - that you desire. Our solutions are Organic, Skin nourishing and always going to be updated so my clients are assured a natural, radiant tan that is also beneficial for your skin. Our hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday at studio by appt..."Southern glow" also offers our services in your home for spa parties & special events only. Claire from Carolina In The Morning did an interview with me at my studio. I also got the privilege to spray tan Claire, which was great! Some what nervous, due to the fact she would be live on the air the very next day.. she was very excited about her spray tan and informed me of numerous E-mails on how beautiful she looked! What a great experience!
Custom spray tans are a safe alternative to frying in the sun
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Ah, the golden glow of summer on your skin. Your darkened skin tone may make you look as though you've spent a week on a tropical island, but in reality, a tan is the sign of skin damage.
A tan, no matter how you get it, is bad news.
Whether you lay out on the beach or in your yard, go to indoor tanning salons, or even just walk around outside while doing errands, if your skin is unprotected it is getting damaged.
Over time, UV rays can lead to premature aging, such as wrinkles, lax skin, brown spots, and more, as well as skin cancer.
Spray tans are a safe solution for those who want to get some color without the negative side effects.
Christina McCauley, owner of Southern Glow Spray Tan Studio, says spray tans have come a long way since they were first introduced on the market.
"If you are using a product with the right ingredients, it won't make you orange, stain your sheets or make you smelly," said McCauley.
McCauley tested several versions of spray tans to eliminate those with negative results.
"I use an aloe based organic line, which is actually very good for your skin, and it has almond and walnut extracts, instead of carrot, which can make you orange."
Another advantage, says McCauley, is that there are no harmful chemicals in the product so you don't have to worry about taking in any toxins while getting tanned.
"The entire procedure just takes a few minutes, and we can pick exactly what shade you would like to be," said McCauley.

Prior to session:
-Exfoliate. Scrub or wash off any dry, dead skin cells.
-Any shaving or waxing should be completed 24 hours prior to session.
-Avoid using bar soaps, high pH shower products, or in shower moisturizers. This could neutralize the skin's reaction to the DHA Bronzing agents.
Day of session:
-Do not use creams, lotions or perfumes because these can act as a barrier, which prevents the bronzers from penetrating your skin.
-Wear loose-fitting, dark clothing. If your clothing is too tight, you risk rubbing or smearing the bronzers, especially around the waist, elbows and knees.
-Remove any make-up prior to sunless application.
After session care:
-Wait 5 minutes before getting dressed to let product completely dry.
-Avoid water and sweating for at least 3 hours.
-Shower after 12 hours, but rinse only, do not use any gels or soaps.
-Avoid perfumes, as they contain alcohol and can cause bronzers to fade quickly
